The Wildwood Fund
The Wildwood School is proud to announce the launch of The Wildwood Fund.
“Wildwood began in Bob Lewis's mind and spirit in the late 1960s. He envisioned a gentle, earth-like place where children's curiosity could run wild. From the first family's experience in 1974 to our current generation, Wildwood continues to explore and learn together. We honor our sense of place and all the human and nonhuman inhabitants” says Tina Person, Director, Wildwood School.
The Wildwood Fund was created with three goals in mind:
Fund the Gap: Wildwood School is committed to keeping tuition accessible, but tuition alone does not cover the full cost of a Wildwood education. In 2025–2026, families contribute $95 per student per day, while the true cost is $103 per day. This gap represents our vital resources—faculty compensation and retention, programming development and supplies, continued teacher education, and enriched learning. With your support, we can bridge this gap and ensure every student continues to benefit from the education our founders envisioned.
Retain and Recruit Top Teachers: Our teachers are the heart of the Wildwood experience, and we highly value our educators. We also understand the unique challenges to living in the Roaring Fork Valley in 2025. To retain current teachers and attract top talent, it is essential to pay a wage in line with cost of living in our community. Wildwood’s leadership understands that it is paramount that we provide competitive salaries and benefits. While we feel that keeping tuition affordable is a priority, ensuring our teachers receive a fair, livable wage is equally important. Optimizing teacher compensation packages is a key goal of The Wildwood Fund.
Renovate and Upgrade the Wildwood Campus: Wildwood’s campus provides a magical learning environment for all of our children. Over the next few years, we need to renovate and upgrade our classroom spaces, our roof, our kitchens, our bathrooms and more. We also would like to build new classroom sheds for storage. These capital improvements will require additional funding, making them a key focus for The Wildwood Fund moving forward.
We hope you will join us in our mission to carry the Wildwood education experience forward. Every contribution to The Wildwood Fund makes a difference, holds significant meaning, and is deeply appreciated. Thanks to the Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit , taxpayers that make a qualifying monetary contribution to promote child care in Colorado may claim an income tax credit equal to 50% of the total qualifying contribution, subject to certain limitations. We encourage all donors to speak to their accountants about specific details. Thank you for supporting our mission to provide top-tier early childhood education for your children and the families in the Roaring Fork Valley. Your donations help us to preserve the magic of Wildwood and create lasting benefits for years to come.
