Discipline
Acceptable forms of discipline at Wildwood School are based on natural and
logical consequences. As much as possible the discipline should be the natural
result of the child's action rather than an enforcement of the staff member's
will. Always explain to the child how their actions have resulted in the situation
and consequences.

Time
out only to allow child to pull himself/herself together, never as a punishment. |

Holding in an extrmeme temper
tantrum |
Trying
at the end of a disciplinary situation to re-establish a positive relationship
with the child without undermining the discipline. Be consistant and detailed
in carrrying out promises of threats made to the child.
The following form of discipline shall NOT be used:

punishment, including but not limited to the following: |

Striking
a child, directly of with any physical object |

Shaking, shoving,
spanking or other forms of aggressive contact |
| |
Requiring or forcing
the child to repeat physical movements |
| 2. Harsh,
humiliating, belittling or degrading responses of any form, including
verbal, emotional and physical. |
| 3.
Depriving of food or rest |
| |
| Violation of any of the above may result
in immediate dismissal |
